Textile Artist and Tutor
Welcome to my Website.
I am Textile Artist and Tutor who teaches regular workshops at Cottenham Village College nr. Cambridge (www.community.cvcweb.net) . Saturday Day Schools and Summer Schools are also part of my teaching schedule at Cottenham. Other regular teaching is based at Belstead House, near. Ipswich and Art Van Go at Knebworth, nr. Stevenage.
My teaching takes me all over the country and I am lucky enough to have taught at the V&A in London, Jersey in the Channel Isles, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Writing is something I also enjoy, which includes my involvement with the Fibrefusion books and writing articles for Magazines.
I am proud to be Tutor/Mentor and member of two textile art exhibiting groups - Fen Edge Textiles (www.fenedgetextiles.co.uk) and Fibrefusion (www.fibrefusion.org.uk) . Fibrefusion have successfully published five stitched textile work books which have sold widely throughout the world. Their fifth book - MUSLIN was published on 10th Sept. 2012 (see below) Both groups exhibit countrywide.
A big commitment is the organisation of a textile fair at Cottenham Village College called 'Textiles in Focus' (www.textilesinfocus.com) . T.I.F. runs for three days at the end of February each year. The dates for our next event will be 17th/19th February 2012 - this will be our eleventh year. Download programme from the menu headed 'Textiles in Focus'.
Equally important to me but a continual challenge, is finding the time to exhibit. Textile art is my absorbing passion. Sharing my art is my love and commitment.
